The present town of Warner was originally named Hereford in 1903. The name was later changed to Warner in honor of Sen. William Warner of Missouri. Warner is located in Muskogee County on Highway 64. It is the home of Connors State College, established in 1908 as Connors State Agricultural College.
Warner City Hall is located in a one-story brick building at 211 8th Street near the center of town. A large metal awning covers the entire front of the building. The building is home to the administrative offices as well as the municipal court. It is open from 8:00-4:30 Monday to Friday. The town is governed by a Mayor and four members of the Town Board. They meet the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30.
