Located at the foot of the church, in front of the monastery, a couple of years ago the department showed its interest in rehabilitating the well-known tower of the Abbots. At the top, a mechanical watch dating back to 1830 by the Ferrol watchmaker Andrés Antelo is still active today. The tower, which offers spectacular views over Celanova and the Monastery of San Salvador itself, has never been open to residents or visitors to the town.
