Popes Chapel School is on the north side of Highway 64, approximately 3 miles east of the town of Warner. This is a one-story building with a gable roof, constructed as a WPA project in 1939. It is built of uncut native sandstone, and the roof has been covered with metal siding. The entrance faces east with a small cross-gable at the center. The single door is located beneath a stone arch.

The four ribbon window units (two on east and two on west) have been filled with wood siding, with smaller windows inserted. This was a four-room school building. At the center of the west elevation is a stone chimney. What fun to live in a WPA school!
