Fonte dos Cabalos
"The Fonte das Pratarías, better known as Fonte dos Cavalos (also known as Fonte dos Quatro Cavalos or Hipocampos) is a monumental fountain in the Compostela Baroque style, by J. Pernas from the year 1825, located in the center of Largo das Pratarías, in old town of Santiago de Compostela.
It is formed by four horses that pour water through their mouths, on top of which stands a pedestal with the Marbled Ark finished off with a female figure with the raised arm supporting the Compostela star. Its meaning has given rise to different interpretations over the years, but it is thought that it is an allegory to the city of Compostela.
