EN: The Ponte Tresa train station is in the south of the village, not far from the lake. It consists of an open concrete hall where the trains stop. There are parking spaces on the roof; the current building is probably from the late 1980s.

Ponte Tresa is the western terminus of Ferrovia Lugano – Ponte Tresa (FLP). The narrow-gauge railway is 12.3 kilometers long and connects Ponte Tresa and the villages in between with the regional center of Lugano.

The railway opened in the summer of 1912. Today it is integrated as line S60 in the Ticino S-Bahn network and is mainly used by commuters from the Malcantone and the neighboring Italian communities. On weekdays there is a train every 15 minutes, in the evenings and on weekends every 30 minutes. In the last 10 years the number of passengers has increased by around 70% and is now around 2.5 million passengers per year.

DE: Der Bahnhof von Ponte Tresa befindet sich im Süden des Dorfes unweit des Seeufers. Er besteht aus einer offenen Betonhalle, in dem die Züge halten. Auf dem Dach befinden sich Parkplätze.Das heutige Gebäude stammt vermutlich aus den späten 1980er Jahren.
