Raul and Milo MacMahon created the Duo Ouro Negro, a pop music band which combined Portuguese and African rhythms. The project started in 1956 and achieved enormous popularity in the Portuguese universe in the 60's and 70's.
Raul died of pneumonia in 2006, aged 72. He rests now in Cemitério dos Prazeres, in a small corner reserved to the most notable Portuguese artists.
