De geschiedenis van t Raadhuis gaat terug naar 1800. In deze voormalige herberg heeft men vanaf 28 november 1800 de goedkeuring om jenever en allerhande gedistilleerde wateren te tappen en op 9 april 1805 wordt daar bier en wijn aan toegevoegd.
De gemeente Goudriaan heeft geen gemeentehuis, men huurt daarvoor een ‘raadkamer’, het zaaltje boven het café, vanaf 1 mei 1857 tot 28 juni 1965. Dan wordt het gemeente huis in gebruik genomen, Goudriaan is op dat moment de laatste gemeente in het land die een eigen raadhuis krijgt en daardoor nog zo lang bijeenkomsten van de raad heeft gehouden in het zaaltje boven een café. Hoe het pand aan zijn naam komt is hiermee duidelijk geworden.
t Raadhuis beschikt over een kade aan de Smoutjesvliet. Het is ook mogelijk om zelf een sloep te huren.

The history of the Raadhuis goes back to 1800. From November 28, 1800, this former inn has been approved to tap gin and all kinds of distilled waters, and beer and wine are added to it on April 9, 1805.
The municipality of Goudriaan does not have a town hall, it rents a 'council room', the room above the café, from May 1, 1857 to June 28, 1965. Then the town hall is put into use, Goudriaan is at that time the last municipality in the country which will have its own town hall and will therefore continue to hold council meetings for so long in the room above a café. How the building got its name has become clear.
