Her full name was Maria Eugénia Rodrigues Branco Pinto do Amaral but she was commonly known as Maria Eugénia. Born in 1927 and died in 2016.
She was a key actress in the so called Golden Era of the Portuguese cinema, and her most famous role was in the movie A Menina da Rádio, produced in 1944, but she was also in the cast of another important movie of that time, O Leão da Estrela (1947).
