This aesthetic cable-stayed suspension bridge was completed in 2018.
The project was begun in late 2013 to replace the existing plate girder bridge, in use since 1974. Its main objective was the twiinning of the bridges to allow for four-lane travel on the Trans Canada Highway.
The westbound lanes were completed by 2016, and the eastbound lanes by 2018. The bridge is the first of its type in Ontario.
Of note is that the west and eastbound bridges are asymmetric. The eastbound bridge is longer.
Best view of the bridge is from the Nipigon Lookout at the nearby westside tourist information centre.
