Voormalig brandweerkazerne, hier gevestigd vanaf de 17e eeuw (eerder stond hier het Clarissenklooster).
Op 12 februari 1929 brandde de kazerne volledig af, samen met de gemeentelijke timmerloods. Op het moment van de brand waren er geen brandweermannen aanwezig waren in de kazerne. Omdat de slangen en spuiten in de kazerne lagen, was het moeilijk om de brand snel te blussen. Door een felle oostenwind werd de brand flink aangewakkerd en al snel sloeg de brand over naar het gebouw van de Gemeentewerken (waar een grote timmerloods in zat). De brandweer kon niet op tegen het vuur en de kazerne ging volledig verloren.
In 1930 start de bouw van een nieuwe kazerne in Amsterdamse school stijl, het gebouw dat er tot de dag van vandaag nog staat. De toenmalige architecten waren de heer J.M. Bakker en gemeente medewerker J. Oosten. In 2008 verhuisde de Goudse brandweer naar een nieuwe locatie aan de Keerkring en kwam de oude kazerne leeg te staan.
Na een grote verbouwing werden een outdoor winkel en appartementen in het complex gerealiseerd.

Former fire station, located here from the 17th century (previously the Poor Clare Monastery stood here).
On February 12, 1929, the barracks burned down completely, along with the municipal carpentry shed. At the time of the fire, no firefighters were present in the barracks. Because the hoses and syringes were in the barracks, it was difficult to extinguish the fire quickly. The fire was intensified by a fierce east wind and the fire soon spread to the public works building (which contained a large carpentry shed). The fire brigade could not compete with the fire and the barracks were completely lost.
In 1930, the construction of a new barracks in Amsterdam school style starts, the building that still stands today. The architects at the time were Mr J.M. Bakker and council employee J. Oosten. In 2008, the Gouda fire brigade moved to a new location on the Keerkring and the old barracks became empty.
After a major renovation, an outdoor shop and apartments were realized in the complex.
