Giant Remembrance Poppy on Douglas Head to mark the Centennary of the end of hostilities in the Great War in November 1918 which is dedicated to the memory of all those who fell, particularly those of Douglas.

The Remembrance Poppy is made from synthetic material similar to 'Astroturf'.

The Poppy is so located that it is best view from the Douglas Bay particularly when entering or existing the harbour.

There is attractively mounted information board above the Remembrance Poppy which is made of intertwined black metal 'stalk' and bright-red poppy flowers.

The information board has the following dedication.
Coat of Arm of the Douglas Corporation

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."
