Bearer of Coat of Arms: Town
Full name of the bearer: Gemeinde Rommerskirchen
Where is Coat of Arms installed (short description) ?: Gemeinde Rommerskirchen
Material / Design: Cast metal
Blazon (heraldic description): The symbols shown in the shield are absolutely identical to those shown by Ewald for the year 1480: under a three-lobed tournament collar there are three eagles (2: 1 arranged). The document from 1355 is in the Cologne City Archives, Kunibert-Kloster collection, document no. 246.
The symbols of the Lords of Anstel found in the seals served as the basis for the creation of the municipal coat of arms of the municipality of Rommerskirchen.
Green was chosen as the basic color, which is intended to express the agricultural character of the municipality. Following the heraldic color rules, we decided on the color "gold" for eagles and tournament collars, as this is also related to the grain industry in our villages. The originally three-lobed tournament collar was expanded to five-lobed. This is intended to symbolically remind the five formerly independent communities of today's Rommerskirchen community.
