This is a 1940 Chevrolet flatbed truck converted to a fire pumper by Simplex Fire Apparatus in Dallas. It was Pilot Point, Texas’ first motorized fire apparatus. They bought it in 1941.
Fire truck collectors refer to it as a “War Baby”. State Farm Agent Tim Shoopman bought it in 2004, and had it chromed and painted.
