It's also known as Iglesia de San Juan de Yanahuara. It was built in the 18th century and although the exact year of construction is not known, we know that in 1750 the church was already active.

Its design is in clear Baroque Mestizo, a variation of Baroque inspired by local motifs. It has a single nave with a bell tower of square layout.

Its main facade is consideres one of the most beautiful Baroque Mestizo samples of Peru. Amongst the rich stone carvings, there is an image of San Juan Bautista.
