The World's First Machine Gun
This Gatling Gun is similar to those used in 1885.
Canadian soldiers employed those high technology
weapons with enthusiasm. One called the Gatling a
"patent murdering machine". In reality, the Gatlings
produced more sound that casualties. Under attack
by a hand cranked machine gun, the Metis at
Batch took shelter in rifle pits and thot back with
hunting rifles such as the Spencer. They
nicknamed the Gatling "rababou" (noisemaker
