In 1929 the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel purchased this organ manufactured by Casavant Frères of Saint-Hyacinthe, QC, Canada. At the time is was the largest organ in Massachusetts with over 6,000 pipes and four keyboards. It is still the largest organ in western Massachusetts. Today the organ is maintained by Austin Organs of Hartford, CT.
