Het 'Indië-monument' te Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel is geplaatst de inwoners van Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel te herdenken die als militair in diens van het Nederlands Koninkrijk zijn omgekomen in voormalig Nederlands-Indië tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en bij de politionele acties na 1945.
Het monument is een gedenksteen van balmoral graniet. De gedenksteen is 1 meter hoog, 1 meter breed en 8 centimeter diep.
Oorspronkelijk stond dit monument een stukje verder aan de Kerklaan, omdat deze plek echter een jongerenhangplek werd, onderhoud nodig was en omdat werd geconstateerd dat er jaarlijks minder mensen aan de Indie herdenking deelnamen vond de gemeente het gepaster om het monument te verplaatsen naar de huidige plek bij de gedenknaald, het andere tweede wereldoorlog monument, nabij de oude begraafplaats.

The 'Indië monument' in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel has been placed to commemorate the residents of Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel who died as soldiers in the service of the Dutch Kingdom in the former Dutch East Indies during the Second World War and in the police actions after 1945.
The monument is a memorial stone of balmoral granite. The memorial stone is 1 meter high, 1 meter wide and 8 centimeters deep.
Originally this monument stood a bit further on the Kerklaan, however, because this place became a youth hangout, maintenance was needed and because it was found that fewer people participated in the Indies commemoration every year, the municipality thought it more appropriate to move the monument to its current location. at the memorial needle, the other second world war memorial, near the old cemetery.
