Oxholm Mølle - Brovst, Danmark - Windmills on Waymarking.com

Oxholm Mølle, en såkaldt hollandsk vindmølle, blev bygget i 1857, placeret på toppen af en bakke i åbent landskab, og sejlere brugte ofte møllen som pejlemærke. Vingefanget var ca. 17,5 m. Møllen blev lukket i 1914.
Frem til 1984 er møllen løbende blevet restaureret. Den 11. oktober 2004 indtraf en stor katastrofe, da møllen på ganske få minutter nedbrændte totalt. Intet af det originale interiør stod til at redde.
Brovst Kommune, som ejede bygningen, besluttede at genopføre møllen. Genindvielsen fandt sted d. 17. maj 2008 ved en stor folkefest.


Oxholm Mill, a so-called Dutch windmill, was built in 1857, placed on top of a hill in open landscape, and sailors often used the mills of landmarks. The wing span was approx. 17.5 m. The Mill closed down in 1914.
Until 1984, the mill has been continuously restored. Unfortunately, the mill burned in a matter of minutes in 2004. Brovst Municipality, which owned the building, decided to rebuild the mill and it was completed in 2008.
