While I was working in Eethen I found this intersection. It is a literal intersection because four roads converge: Raadhuisstraat in the north, Nieuwe Steeg in the east, Molensteeg in the south and De Hoek in the west. From historical research (I am an archaeologist) I know that Eethen dates from the Early Middle Ages and that three of these roads, Raadhuisstraat, Nieuwe Steeg and Molensteeg, date from the Middle Ages. The street De Hoek is a new addition because it is part of a 20th century residential area.
