It's not often one finds a Woodmen of the World monument for someone who passed on in the 19th century, although we can't necessarily assume that this one was placed before 1900. It is an interesting variant, topped by a Holy Bible, with a shroud with tassles covering all sides, and the family name, "Spooner", is on the plinth with an appropriate rustic look. The Woodmen of the World emblem is the usual theme, but here, the dove with the olive branch has a different look to it, along with the tools in relief. The inscription reads:

Walter B.
Son of
G.W. & Mary C.
Spooner

Born
Dec. 9, 1870
Died
Aug. 31, 1894

Blessed are the pure in heart.
