Lötschberger Südrampe is a hiking trail along the railway tracks between Hohtenn and Brig. It was not only the first trail for railway enthusiasts when it opened in 1960, it also uses the roadbed of the former construction railway when possible.

EN: The Southern Lötschberg ramp hiking trail is 26 kilometers long and runs along the railway line from which it takes its name. The endpoints are the railway stations of Hohtenn and Brig. The route is divided into five stages, which together give a duration of eight and a half to nine hours. At the intermediate destinations are catering and accommodation possibilities as well as train stations.

The route leads along some spectacular railway bridges and vantage points in an alpine environment with partly already mediterranean vegetation. Also some of the well-known traditional Valais irrigation canals are encountered. The route runs, where possible, on the route of the former construction railway, a narrow-gauge line that brought construction workers, materials and machinery to the construction sites of the large line from 1907 and was dismantled after it opened in 1913. Some tunnels on the construction railway also belong to the hiking trail, unfortunately the wooden bridges of that time no longer exist.

The route was refreshed in 2013 and extended from Lalden to Brig to its current total length.
