This silhouette art is right across the highway from the Waldrop Rest Area, so safe parking is nearby. Just be careful crossing the highway! The silhouette art depicts a typical New Mexico scene: a tree, dogs and other farm animals, a windmill, a little girl, and an outhouse that might or might not be tipping over.
Also note the sign to the east. Sand Ranch has joined conservation efforts to preserve the Lesser Prairie Chicken. You can read more at the web page linked below.
