This 1899 bridge carries Tonbridge High Street across a tributary of the River Medway that runs in a roughly east/west direction to the south of the town centre. The bridge, vehicle and foot. is orientated in a south west/north east direction.

The bridge has two date plaques that are located at the base of each if two lamp posts. The lamp posts are located one each side of the bridge and are mounted on top of painted. metal balustrades.

The inscription reads:

The balustrades and lamp posts are mainly painted white with some black and red.
