This statue of Queen Elizabeth II was sculpted by local artist Leo Mol in commemoration of her address to the Manitoba Legislature in 1970 as part of Manitoba's Centennial celebrations. Originally situated in the Steinkopf Gardens at the Centennial Concert Hall, the statue was relocated to its present site on the grounds of Government House in 2010. It was unveiled by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, at a ceremony on 3 July 2010.
