"Christ and Grace Church installed a labyrinth on its grounds in October 2008. A symbol of Christians’ pilgrimage in faith, it is a winding circular path that leads to a center, which is marked by a large rock representing our center, which is God.
The labyrinth is an ancient representation of wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. It represents a journey to our own center and our return to the world.
Labyrinth walking is an age-old practice used by many different faiths for spiritual centering, contemplation, and prayer. Entering the sinuous path of a labyrinth, you walk purposefully while quieting your mind and focusing on a spiritual question or prayer.
“The labyrinth literally reintroduces the experience of walking a clearly defined path. This reminds us that there is a path, a process that brings us to unity, to the center of our beings. In the simple act of walking, the soul finds solace and peace.”
-Lauren Artress, “Walking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice”
Individuals may walk the labyrinth any time during daylight hours. Congregations are asked to call or email the Christ and Grace Church office to reserve a time for groups." - (https://www.christandgrace.org/labyrinth.php)
