Nani Falcone Community Park is easily gotten to from the intersection of Bandera Road (TX-16) and Mytic Park. At this intersection, Mystic Park is the name on one side of the intersection and Bresnahan Street is on the other side. Turn onto Mystic Park and in a few blocks, you will be at the park. This park offers a dog park, a skate park, a disc golf course, hiking trails, several children's playgrounds and open fields for kite flying or informal ball games.

At the central part of the park where the pavilion is found next to some playground equipment, the sidewalk curves out to a short wall, just the right height for sitting on it. This short wall curves and in the center of the curve is a bronze sculpture of the man after whom this park is named. He sits with his right hand extended in greeting for a handshake and his head is turned slightly so he can see who is sitting next to him on his right side. There is room on both sides of him and space behind him for a group of people to gather 'round and greet him.

Ernani Falcone was one of those people who can do it all and gets as much done as possible. He graduated with a Bachelor degree from Princeton University, but later earned a Master degree from Pennsylvania State University. Ofter Princeton, he joined the Army as a Private during the Korean War, but retired as a Colonel. He also was a career politician after his Army days. HIs fluent knowledge of five languages surely helped his diplomatic endeavors! Even so, he taught in the public schools where he lived so he could give even more to the community. The link provided below will give the details of Nani Falcone's varied careers. It is not surprising that a city park would be named after him.
