Just across the ditch on the east side of Highway 3, 79C459 was monumented in a bedrock outcrop in 1979 and a blue witness sign placed immediately southeast. On the highway outside the eastern edge of Osoyoos, this is at the foot of the long, steep hill coming down to Osoyoos, just southeast of a broad switchback, the last of several on the hill.
The nearest safe parking spot is at an entrance pullout on the east side of the highway, about 200 metres south.
