The ST.BARBE is a heraldic window in the north aisle of the abbey, originally in place in 1614, it bears the arms of members of the St.Barbe family. The window was restored by Clayton and Bell in 1866.
The St Barbe portion of the arms is Chequy of twelve arg and sa.
In A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry; Or, Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland Etc, Volume 2 there is a history of the family, although the arms of the wives (assumed the right hand side of the blazon) do not appear correspond with the lineage up to 1614.
