This monastery was created in 1600 by the Franciscan priest Francisco Morales. The church included was totally rebuilt in the 19th Century.
There are three cloisters plus one, known as the "Oranges Patio" which includes a 400 years old tree.
Along history, the monastery was also used as barracks and as a prison.
The monastery has a museum opened to the public. The collection focuses in sculptures and paintings from the 16th to the 20th centuries, and the highlights are the several representations of St Francis of Assis.
