15th century rood screen in St Mary's church, Yaxley. The upper screen has beautiful tracery, best seen from a distance as it bubbles up into the chancel arch.

The faces of the Saints in the dado were viciously attacked by Anglican reformers in the 1540's. The spandrels of the dado contain delicate carvings.

Although defaced, it is still possible to identify some of the saints on the dado panels - Saint Ursula, Mary of Magdala, Catherine, Barbara, Dorothy and Cecilia. The tower of St Barbara can be seen in the distance behind her. The flowers carried by St Dorothy and St Cecilia seem abstract, but yet manage to echo foliage and formal shapes.
