At Lake Side Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania is a large stone with an image of a shepherd and sheep, and the first verse of Psalm 23 (or Psalm 22 in the Latin Vulgate) carved into it. The translation of the Psalm is the well-known King James Version, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."

This verse is one of the most well-known in all of sacred scripture and is often recited in time of distress and to comfort those who mourn. Therefore, it is fitting for this verse to be displayed in a cemetery.
