The Warren Theater in Midwest City has decided to not open yet, partly because of the corona virus, and partly because no new movies have been released (because of the virus). When the theater opens it will show old movies until new ones are released.

Movie theaters are among the businesses that have been allowed to reopen today.
But that doesn’t mean all of them have chosen to do so. One prominent theater has taken a slower approach to reopening.
The Warren Theatre in Midwest City will keep its doors closed for now. Its owner says it’s likely to open sometime this month. He said he based his decision on what’s best for theatergoers and the lack of new movies coming out of Hollywood right now.
“We are still working on that because we want to make sure we get the seating right -- the safety sanitization all that stuff,” Bill Warren said of his last remaining movie theater.
People come to the theater to enjoy themselves, not to feel unsafe, he said.
“After all, you go to a theater to relax and have a good time. You can't do that if you don't feel like the theater is safe,” he said.
Warren said he understands the need to return to normal and has cabin fever just like everyone else. But now is not the time to reopen. And it’s not just based on patron safety. It’s also based on a lack of new content. After all, Hollywood has been shut down just like the rest of the country.
“The bigger movies aren't going to be out until July,” he said.
Until then, the Warren will show popular older movies.
“We will show Hollywood movies, but there won’t be new ones because there’s none available,” he said.
