The Hon. Edward Davies House, located on the south side of Main Street (Rte 23) in the village of Churchtown, was built in 1805.
The building, built as two adjoining structures, was used by Davies as his dwelling and shop under one roof from 1805, until his death in 1853.
On June 9th, 1804, Edward Davies (1779-1853), bought the town lot measuring 42.8 perches, across the street from the Bangor Episcopal Church from Eleanor Fausset. Davies was a local shopkeeper and postmaster. In 1839-41, he represented his district in the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth congresses.
Since the Hon. Edward Davies death in 1853, the property has served a variety of uses.
