The congregation of the West Suffield Congregational Church - UCC evolved for members of the First Church of Christ in downtown Suffield. The approval to establish a new Congregational church in the West Suffield was approved on November 10, 1743 and the first meeting house was built in 1744.

In 1775, a second meeting house was erected on the site of the original building. A third version of the church was built in 1839 on the earlier foundation. Additions were made in 1879 and 1958.

The front church is three bays wide with a central entrance flanked by an array, 2 wide by 4 high, paned glass windows on each side. Four Doric columns support the roof over the portico entrance. The sides are three bays wide. Each bay has a set of 2 by 2 paned glass windows. A squared three-tiered steeple rises from the front of the church. The steeple is topped by a gold cross.
