Rood screen and dado in St John the Baptist's Head, Trimmingham.
A small screen, with eight figures, four on either side of the chancel entrance. The edges of the panels have been reduced during restoration, replacing the narrow uprights with wider ones.
The eight figures, from left to right, are:
St Edmund, King & Martyr, with his arrow (like St Sebastian, he was shot to death with arrows).
St Clare, a follower of Francis of Assisi, with her monstrance and bible.
St Clement, Bishop & Martyr, with his anchor and crozier, giving blessing.
St James in his pilgrim's robes. In the spandrel above is a head in a charger (dish) - a reminder of the unique dedication of this church to St John the Baptist's Head.
St Petronella, daughter of St Peter, with her book and keys. In the spandrel above the sign of the lamb and flag.
St Cecilia, martyr, with her garland of flowers and rose wreath on her head, the patron saint of church music. In the spandrel above is a dragon.
St Barbara, martyr, with her tower, holding a pen and axe,
St Jeron with his hawk.
