Marker text: Riegelsville Historic District Named in 1876 — Farming, Milling and Trade Route —First known as Shank's Ferry in the 1700's. A ferry was established here across the Delaware River. It became known as Riegel's Ferry and the first bridge was built circa 1837. In 1854 a railroad station was built with the stop named "Musconetcong"
