Calvary Cemetery is also known as Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, and with nearly eleven thousand burials, it is among the largest in a populous city like Sioux City.

The first Station can be found near the northwest corner of the Block Section, and from there, the remaining Stations follow a path that stretches across the north end of the section before making a turn south at Station IV, which faces the corner.

For the most part, all the Stations are in very good condition, especially for their age. They are all a variant of a granite base upon which the appropriate marble artwork rests, with a wooden cross on all but one. A Roman numeral inscribed into the top of the base identifies the particular Station, and like the "AD 1917" down lower, some of these are more legible than others. Seemingly lost to us is the text in a smooth space below the numbers: These appear to dedicated to someone, given that "In Memory" and "In Memoriam" are visible on a few, as is "K. of. C." "Laurence and Eliza McCarty", who are buried here, are referenced on Station IV. Station XIV has something about "Eternal Rest Grant Them Lord", which may be more in line with the theme of the Stations rather than being an actual dedication. The statuary, the Kaletta Company from St. Louis, MO, is referenced on at least the back of Station XI.

Station XII, where Jesus dies, appears to have a metal cross, unlike the other stations. The cross on Station VI could use some adjustment, while the one on Station V could use some repair. If these are the originals, they are in very good condition otherwise, but could benefit from a coat of paint.
