Near the southern edge of Young's Pond Park, there is an old storage bunker, not far from Young's Pond. There is a 5' X 8' mural on the twin doors to the bunker. The right side represents winter at the pond, the left shows us summer by the pond. There is a squirrel on the left and a mating pair of cardinals on the right. I don't think that the bright sun is in the correct location in the image of the pond but this is not about accuracy. The mural is all about representing the park being used in all seasons.
After the success of her first mural for the Glen Cairn Tennis Club, Alexis Kirkwood has been asked to use her skills on other locations throughout Kanata south.
