Der Gesundheitsgarten ist ein kleiner, öffentlicher Park hinter dem Marien-Hospital in Erftstadt-Liblar. In ihm sind einige Skulpturen, Kunstobjekte und wissenschaftliche Anschauungsobjekte dauerhaft ausgestellt. Ein solches ist die sogenannte "Klangsäule".

Die Klangsäule ist aus einem großen Steinblock gefertigt, der von oben kreuzweise eingeschnitten ist. Dadurch entstehen vier Steinsäulen, die sich leicht bewegen können und in Schwingung versetzt werden können. Dazu befeuchtet der Besucher die Oberfläche der Steinquader und reibt sie oder schlägt sie rythmisch leicht an. Stimmt die Frequenz mit der Resonanzfrequenz des Quaders überein, gerät er in Schwingung und erzeugt einen anhaltenden, kraftvollen Ton. Das physikalische Prinzip ist das gleiche wie bei einer Stimmgabel.

Neben der Klangsäule steht eine Informationstafel, die die Funktionsweise und den physikalischen Hintergrund des Experiments erklärt.
The Gesundheitsgarten is a small, public park behind the Marien Hospital in Erftstadt-Liblar. Some sculptures, art objects and scientific objects are permanently exhibited in it. One of these is the so-called "Klangsäule" (i.e. "sound column").

The sound column is made from a large stone block, which is cut crosswise from above. This creates four stone pillars that can move a little and can be set in vibrancy. To do this, the visitor moistens the surface of the stone cuboid and rubs it or rhythmically strikes it. If the frequency matches the resonance frequency of the cuboid, it vibrates and produces a sustained, powerful tone. The physical principle is the same as with a tuning fork.

Next to the sound column is an information board that explains the functionality and the physical background of the experiment.

The visitor learns, that every object has a resonance frequency, even such a large stone block. It can vibrate and produce a tone like a tuning fork.
