This is a toposcope/orientation table in Finche Field, West Hoathly.

The toposcope shows the distance to locations in all directions. However, it is only possible to see to the south and partially north-east due to tree growth. The southward view is regularly maintained by cutting back the bushes. It was commissioned by the local parish council to commemorate the new millennium.

The toposcope at Finche Field highlights views to the South and North Downs and is 180 metres
above sea level. Finche Field, which is owned by the Parish Council forms the local countryside gap
as meadowland between Sharpthorne and West Hoathly and accommodates extensive and well
