Sometimes there isn’t a lot of information to go by. Not much information was found on the Giovanni Grado Family in Holy Cross Cemetery. What was there didn’t answer the question of who is entombed here.
At best guess, this is the final resting place of Giovanni Grado, his wife Caroline, and possibly their youngest son John, Jr. He was killed in 1930, so he may be buried near by.

The building is rather large, with room for maybe 8 to 10 vaults. It appears to be constructed of block. There are four columns on each side, the door is metal with glass. The family name GRADO is on the door and above on the frieze.

John “Johnny” Grado, Jr

Johnny graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans and opened a small pharmacy on Navigation, the Midget Pharmacy. He was shot through the heart and died in the pharmacy. The reports in the Galveston Daily News indicate he reopened the drug store for two young men both of whom claimed the gun discharged accidentally, each claiming the other had possession of the weapon.
