Batterij Fiemel telde op haar hoogtepunt ongeveer 40 bouwwerken.
De meeste ervan zijn gesloopt.
De hoofdbewapening bestond uit vier stukken luchtafweergeschut met een kaliber van 12,8 cm.
Het was het zwaarste afweergeschut van Nederland en diende ter verdediging van de Duitse havenstad Emden.
Bij de bevrijding van Groningen werd vanuit de batterij zwaar verzet geboden.

Battery Fiemel had about 40 buildings at its peak.
Most of them have been demolished.
The main armament consisted of four pieces of anti-aircraft guns with a caliber of 12.8 cm.
It was the heaviest anti-aircraft gun in the Netherlands and served to defend the German port city of Emden.
During the liberation of Groningen, heavy resistance was offered from the battery.
