Long Description:

---

It was the place where border guards caught numerous smugglers in the past.
The hut tells the story of smuggling practices on the border with Germany that continued until the 1970s.

Until the 1970s, the hut provided shelter for "commiezen": border guards charged with the detection of smugglers.

The watchmen could check the border unseen from peepholes.
From these huts, border guards had to limit the smuggling of butter, cheese and livestock during World War II.
Some huts were used until the 1970s, until the European Customs Union ended smuggling in 1968.
