Florida DEP Survey Mark - Punta Gorda, Florida, USA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

Located on the south end of the Barron Collier Bridge crossing the Peace River on US Highway 41 also known as State Road 45 is a survey mark for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. This survey mark is easy to access for those who are physically impaired or use mobility assist devices. There is ample parking at the Laishley Park marina and restaurant parking lot. Park as close to the boat ramp trailer parking area as possible. Use the sidewalks to access the sidewalk closest to US Highway 41, not the serpentine one closest to the boat ramp. The sidewalk next to US Highway 41 will take you straight to the bridge. There is a slight upward grade to the bridge.

The survey mark is located on the east side of the bridge in the bridge abutment right where the bridge sidewalk railing begins. It is mounted flush with the abutment and level with the paved road.
