Broughton Park - Kanata, Ontario - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

This had been a great place for a park. When Ziggy and I were younger (2012), we often ran up the old country road on Richardson Ridge to sit here under the shade of mature trees and look west across the Carp River, a floodplain with no urban development. How things have changed.

Broughton Park opened in August 2014. The official entry point is Battersea Crescent. There is also a park entrance from the old Richardson Sideroad (posted co-ordinates) which is now considered to be a paved pathway. Vehicles can no longer use that remnant of country road.

Broughton Park has a picnic shelter and two children's playgrounds. Landscape structures created a playground for children aged 5 to 12 and another structure for children aged 18 months to 5 years.
