Quick Description: A 1936 Texas Centennial highway marker with basic info on Newton County. This is one of two markers in a depression era roadside park on US-190 between Newton and Bon Wier.

Long Description:
In September, 2016, we were driving around Newton County visiting as many markers as possible. At the time I was especially interested in finding all the Centennial markers.

While many of the Centennial highway markers have had their plaques and/or stars replaced, I was pleased to find this one still has its original bronze.
