The fountain does not have much to indicate its origins. It is located in a small park in Lockland, OH, a city that once thrived as it was along the route of the Miami Erie Canal. The city once had four locks present along the route. The route of I-75 was split around the city, with the SB lanes around the westside and the NB on the east, and is referred to as the Lockland Split. See the nearby waymarks I was able to find in the park.
