Dit anker ligt in een zeer bijzonder gebied: op het terrein van de oude RDM scheepswerf (Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij). Tussen 1902 en 1996 was dit een belangrijke scheepswerf voor scheepsnieuwbouw, scheepsreparatie en machinebouw in Rotterdam. Het bedrijf bouwde 355 schepen, vrijwel allemaal zeegaand, zowel voor de koopvaardij als de marine. Ook construeerde het bedrijf brugdelen (Vianen) en boorplatforms. Op zijn hoogtepunt telde het bedrijf 7.000 personeelsleden en nam enige tijd de leidende positie onder de Nederlandse scheepswerven in.
Tegenwoordig ligt hier de RDM Campus. Het gebied wordt in fases ontwikkeld tot een aantrekkelijke vestigingslocatie voor onderwijsinstellingen en bedrijven, waarbij de nadruk ligt op duurzaamheid.

This anchor is located in a very special area: on the site of the old RDM shipyard (Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij). Between 1902 and 1996 this was an important shipyard for ship new construction, ship repair and machine building in Rotterdam. The company built 355 ships, almost all of them seagoing, for both merchant and navy. The company also constructed bridge sections and drilling platforms. At its peak, the company employed 7,000 people and for some time occupied the leading position among Dutch shipyards.
Today the RDM Campus is located here. The area is being developed in phases into an attractive location for educational institutions and companies, with an emphasis on sustainability.
