Oliver Seibert played center for the Berlin Rangers in the Western Ontario Hockey Association. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961. His son Earl Seibert was a defenseman for the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963.

Popular Coach of the Springfield Indians for five straight
seasons (1946-47 to 1950-51).

Played for Springfield at both the beginning and ending of
his professional playing career.

An outstanding defenseman, playing over 15 years in the
NHL, which included two Stanley Cup Championships with
the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks.

Was an NHL All Star for 10 consecutive seasons
(1934-35 to 1943-44) and selected to the
First team on four occasions.

Earl and his father, Oliver, were the first father-son player
combination ever elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Earl Seibert was born on December 7, 1911 in Berlin, Ontario, Canada. He began his National Hockey League with the New York Rangers from 1931 to 1936. He help the team win the Stanley Cup in 1933. He then played for the Chicago Black Hawks from 1936 to 1945. His team won the Stanley Cup in 1938. He ended his career playing for the Detroit Red Wings from 1945 - 1946. During the 1934-35 season, Seibert was named to the NHL's First All-Star Team. This was the first of ten consecutive seasons he would be named an NHL All-Star team as a defenseman - four times to the First All-Star Team and six times to the Second All-Star Team. Earl Seibert was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963 joining his father, Oliver Seibert, who was elected in 1961. They are the first father and son elected to the Hall of Fame in the Players' Category. He died on May 12, 1990 in Agawam, MA at age 78.
