Kadan Astronomical Clock is a twice-enlarged copy of the original clockwork of the Prague astronomical clock (from 1410) and an astrolabe, which is in its actual size as the original. The total weight of the unique work is over 4 tons and the height reaches almost 6 meters.

The Kadan Astronomical Clock, the work of sculptor Karel Meloun from Klášterec nad Ohrí, was ceremoniously unveiled on the Nábreží Maxipsa Fíka (Maxipes Fík waterfront) below Kadan Castle on October 6, 2014. Karel Meloun created his unusual "Tribute to Nicholas of Kadan" exactly according to the original model from the time of the Kadan native. The Prague Astronomical Clock is currently powered by another, more modern mechanism. With a bit of exaggeration, we can say that the clockwork behind the astrolabe of the astronomical clock in Kadan is actually more original than it is currently in Prague.

Nicholas of Kadan (Mikuláš z Kadane), who in 1410 significantly contributed to the improvement of the astronomical clock at the town hall of the Old Town of Prague, is definitely one of the most prominent personalities of the Kadan region.

Maxipes Fík waterfront (Nábreží Maxipsa Fíka) is a pedestrian and bicycle promenade located in the town of Kadan on the left bank of the river Ohre. The whole embankment is networked by pedestrian and bikers roads.

The town of Kadan decided to combine the character of the popular cartoon character hero Maxipes Fík with the implementation of the "Strategic Development Plan of the Town of Kadan" in 2004. The construction of the Maxipes Fík waterfront in Kadan created a unique public space for pedestrians and bikers, in which a plethora of artistic and leisure elements are combined (Kadan Astronomical Clock, statues, playgrounds, special child attractions etc.). Among other things, an amphitheatre for organizing cultural events was created here. The waterfront construction was done in 2005-2011.

Maxipes Fík is connected with Kadan mainly the place where the whole cartoon takes place - in Ahníkov. This currently deserted and by a brown coal strip mine destroyed village was located about 5 km northeast of Kadan. In addition to the place itself, the cartoon author, the writer Rudolf Cechura, who is a native of Ahníkov and also lived in Kadan for many years. Moreover, the actor Josef Dvorák, who lived in Kadan for a long time, lent his voice to Maxipes Fík.
